Money Mailer’s CEO loved the company so much, he bought it

Getting to know a company’s CEO and leadership team will tell you a lot about that company. In the case of Money Mailer Chairman and CEO Gary Mulloy, who has a long history in the direct mail marketing industry, here’s the most important thing to know: He was so impressed by the franchise opportunity when he first encountered the company in the early 2000s, he knew immediately he wanted to buy it.

In 2010, after partnering with an investor group, he did just that. Read on to learn a little more about the team behind our successful franchise.

Gary Mulloy
Chairman & CEO

Gary Mulloy looking toward cameraMulloy, our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, has led the Money Mailer organization since he and an investor group acquired it in 2010. He has spent over two decades in the direct mail industry. He’s led several global companies in a diverse group of industries ranging from cosmetics to private equity and advertising. Mulloy drove the strategic turnaround of Maybelline, which led it to become the No. 1 cosmetic brand in the world. He also held the position of Chairman and CEO for ADVO, a publicly traded consumer direct mail and targeting company. Mulloy is passionate about the direct mail industry, and supporting Money Mailer franchisees and their clients are his top priorities.

Ryan Carr
Senior Vice President and CFO

Picture of Ryan CarrCarr has over 20 years of experience in finance and public accounting. He’s responsible for all financial components of the business, including reporting and analysis, credit and collections, audit and taxes and has been with Money Mailer since 2012. Prior to working in direct mail, Carr was the CFO of Azure Dynamics, a leader in the development and production of hybrid electric, electric components and powertrain systems for commercial vehicles. He also held CFO positions with Ryko Manufacturing and Hayes Lemmerz International.

Scott Ijams
Senior Vice President of Operations

Scott Ijams SmilingIjams leads our Information Technology, Production Operations, Art Services, Customer Service, Marketing Analytics and Facilities teams. Production operations management includes optimizing manufacturing methodologies, research and development of new products and services, vendor relations and operational accountability. He also leads the Art, Design, Delivery and Customer Service teams to focus efforts on driving sales within the franchise system. Before joining Money Mailer, Ijams led technology operations for Pacific Investment Management Company. He also spent 12 years as an officer and helicopter pilot with the United States Marine Corps.

Joe Craciun
Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Joe Craciun smiling at cameraCraciun is responsible for all of Money Mailer’s legal affairs, including all franchise and advertising-related regulatory work with the FTC and various state governing bodies. He also leads the Human Resources department. Craciun has over two decades of experience serving as in-house counsel for several franchise organizations, including Mail Boxes Etc. USA and Coldwell Banker. He handles all franchise- and corporate-related matters, including dispute resolution management.

John Patinella
Senior Vice President of Marketing and Franchise Development

John Patinella SmilingA former Money Mailer franchisee himself, Patinella is uniquely situated to understand the needs of our franchise owners and is committed to helping them reach their goals and achieve success. Patinella oversees franchise recruitment and marketing functions. He’s responsible for the acquisition of new franchisees, including lead generation, launch program development and franchise agreement assignments. His marketing efforts are focused on sales support for the franchise system and corporate sales team, which includes sales collateral, promotions, lead generation and corporate communications. Patinella has over 30 years of experience in local advertising sales, franchise sales, training and franchise operations.

Mike Hiskett
Senior Vice President of Sales

Mike Hiskett smiling at cameraHiskett is responsible for all sales activities, including franchise, national, corporate and transitional markets. He has over 30 years of experience in direct mail advertising and the print industry and has worked with local, regional and national advertisers to develop direct-to-consumer advertising campaigns. His experience also includes B2B sales, marketing analytics, customer support and back-office administration. Hiskett has held several executive roles in the advertising industry and before joining Money Mailer, he worked for such organizations as ADVO/Valassis and Preferred Media.

Mike Tinz
Vice President of Franchise Sales

Mike Tinz SmilingWith his 30-year background in sales, marketing and advertising, Tinz oversees new franchisee training as well as development and sales. He leads Money Mailer’s Regional Sales team, which is dedicated to helping franchisees build a successful and thriving business. Before joining our organization, Tinz spent nine years working for ValPak, where he led one of their largest owned and operated franchises in the U.S. His passion for sales and his commitment to training and development have helped our most successful franchisees build very profitable businesses.
